Silicosis Risk Disclaimer

Important Notice: It is important to understand that the risks associated with silica exposure are related to the manufacturing and installation processes. Once installed, quartz and other similar countertops are safe for daily use and do not pose a health risk in the home. As long as the fabrication and installation processes adhere to industry regulations, there should be no cause for concern regarding silicosis or other silica-related health issues.

Health Warning: The fabrication and installation of certain countertops, such as those made from quartz, granite, and other materials containing crystalline silica, may involve the release of respirable silica dust. Prolonged inhalation of this dust can cause silicosis, a serious and potentially life-threatening lung disease. Symptoms of silicosis may include shortness of breath, cough, fatigue, and chest pain, and the condition may lead to other respiratory issues.

Safety Precautions: It is essential that all fabrication and installation work involving these materials is conducted by trained professionals using appropriate safety measures, including but not limited to, wet-cutting techniques, local exhaust ventilation, and proper respiratory protection. These safety precautions are standard for all artificial stone products, and when followed correctly, they minimize any health risks associated with silica dust.

Responsibility Statement: While we strive to provide high-quality materials, the risk of silicosis and other respiratory conditions related to silica exposure is inherent to the nature of these products during their production and installation. We strongly advise all contractors and homeowners to adhere to the recommended safety guidelines to minimize exposure. Our company assumes no liability for any health issues that may arise due to improper handling or exposure to silica dust.

For More Information: Please consult OSHA guidelines on silica safety or seek advice from a qualified occupational health professional.
